What Is Trophy Scan?

Bowhunter with his whitetail buck and compound bow in a field at sunrise

Trophy Scan is a free app for iPhone and Android that scores your whitetail from a 3D scan of the actual antlers. Walk a slow circle around the antlers with your phone, and in minutes you get a field score, a 3D model of your trophy and a place to share it with other hunters. Mule deer and elk are coming soon.

Built to Replace the Tape Measure

Trophy Scan started with one goal: make scoring easier to get right. Scoring by hand is slow, and two people can tape the same antlers and come up with different numbers.

The team behind Trophy Scan has scored trophies with 3D scanners for years. Now the same idea runs on the phone in your pocket, and it's free for every hunter.

How Trophy Scan Works

  1. Scan. Walk a slow circle around the antlers with your phone. The app guides you the whole way and builds a 3D model of the antlers.
  2. Score. Trophy Scan measures the model and gives you a field score, shown as a range, with the measurements behind it.
  3. Save. Every scan is saved to your account, so your trophy is there whenever you want to look at it again.
  4. Share. Post your buck to the community feed with the story of the hunt, or send anyone a link to your trophy.

What Makes Trophy Scan Different

It Measures Your Actual Antlers, Not a Photo

Some scoring apps estimate a score from a picture. The problem is that a photo only shows one angle, and camera angles can make tines look longer, spreads look wider and mass nearly impossible to judge. Trophy Scan generates a 3D model of the antlers, so every measurement comes from the real thing.

Accurate Scores

Every scan is measured the same way, so there's no debate about where the tape started or whether it followed the curve.

A 3D Record of Your Buck

A score is just a number. A 3D model shows the whole trophy: every tine, curve and bit of mass. It's how you preserve the hunt.

A Community Built for Hunters

Trophy Scan is also a place made for hunters, where you can share your trophies, follow other hunters and comment on their trophies, without the anti-hunting comments you'll find on mainstream social media.
